Why dont we re-engineer the squirrel pox to kill grey's as well?

Messing with viruses to control pest population is generally seen as short sighted and potentially harmful.

Messing with a pox virus is considered downright dangerous. The last time someone modified a pox virus to kill a rodent, they discovered how to make a superpox that no vaccine could protect against. Why dont we re-engineer the squirrel pox to kill grey's as well?
I'm going to assume you're serious......well, if they took a sample of the virus, modified it and released again to be spread. It would kill off some grey squirrels.

But oh, wait, there's still some of that virus that kills red squirrels floating around.....darn.

EDIT: Sorry for the sarcasm it's not even that bad a question. Why dont we re-engineer the squirrel pox to kill grey's as well?
Why don't we re -engineer small pox to kill you as well?

P.S. No apostrophe in greys
